Tattoo Aftercare is an important part of preserving your tattoo.
Aftercare / Specials
Instructions
+ Remove bandage/wrapping after 2 hours (do not rebandage at any point after this).
+ Wash your hands thoroughly.
+ Using your fingers, wash tattoo with warm water and mild soap. Do not use a washcloth.
+ Allow the tattoo to completely dry.
+ Apply a thin layer of ointment. Repeat this 2-3 times a day for day 1 and day 2.
+ On day 3, continue to wash your tattoo and once it completely dries, you want to start applying the lotion.
You can stop using the ointment at this point.
+ You will continue to wash and apply the lotion until the tattoo is healed.
Soap
Wash your hands thoroughly.
Pump desired amount into palm of hand and gently rub over tattoo.
Rinse well with clean warm water.
Lightly pat or air dry completely.
Use as often to remove dirt/keep clean.
Ointment/Balm
Wash hands thoroughly.
Clean tattoo with soap.
Lightly pat or air dry completely.
Apply a thin layer over the entire tattoo.
Lotion
Wash your hands thoroughly.
Clean tattoo with soap.
Lightly pat or air dry completely.
Apply small amount and gently rub into skin.
DOs & DON’Ts
Do listen to and follow your artist aftercare instructions.
Do wash your tattoo. It is a fresh wound.
Do Not allow the fresh tattoo to soak in water.
Do Not wrap the tattoo back up. Rewrapping can trap moisture leading to bacteria growth and infection.
Do allow the tattoo to breathe as much as possible.
Do avoid wearing tight clothing over the tattoo. It could rub the tattoo, cause moisture which in turn causes bacteria.
Do Not scratch, pick or peel the tattoo. Doing so can prematurely remove skin which can cause the lost of pigment.
Do Not allow the tattoo to sit in direct sunlight.
Do Not allow the tattoo to become dry. Keep it moisturized.
Do Not wash your tattoo with a washcloth.
Do Not apply too much ointment or lotion. Doing so could suffocate the tattoo and cause it not to properly heal.
